The DEI committee is excited to announce the launch of a new ministry - ESL (English as a second language) classes at IUCC, starting 14 January 2026 every Wednesday morning, 10am-12pm. Free!
People with limited English skills face huge barriers in integrating into our city and community and even doing the tasks of daily life. They may be unable to have crucial communications with their child’s school or with health providers. They may feel isolated, alone or siloed with those who speak their native tongue.
We will offer weekly classes where non-English speakers can improve their English skills by having real- life conversations in a caring and supportive environment. These classes will also serve as an opportunity to learn about each other’s cultures, connect with each other and form meaningful relationships.
We hope that these English conversation classes will help all neighbors overcome language and cultural barriers and empower them to live out their lives with greater confidence and success. At the same time, the IUCC community will be enriched and strengthened as we show God’s love for our neighbors in practical ways.
