The May IUCC Newsletter is Here! Highlights include:
After a vibrant Easter season filled with music, celebration, and community, May begins with that same spirit of joy at IUCC. From meaningful worship moments to new friendships forming each week, our church continues to grow into a more diverse, welcoming, and life-giving community.
Through advocacy, partnerships, and direct support, IUCC stands alongside immigrants and refugees with compassion and courage. From ESL programs to court accompaniment and refugee support, we’re actively building a community where every story is honored and everyone belongs.
We’re actively creating new spaces to support accessibility and belonging, including sensory-friendly areas and calming environments for worship. This effort reflects our commitment to ensuring everyone feels safe, seen, and welcomed.
Join us May 30th for an unforgettable evening of music, spirit, and connection. The dynamic Singers of Soul bring powerful harmonies and infectious energy in a performance that invites everyone to feel, participate, and celebrate together. Come for the free meal, stay for the music, and leave inspired.
Get ready for one of the most joyful nights of the year! Our Disco Bingo Bash on May 22nd blends games, drag performances, and retro flair into a high-energy evening of laughter and connection. Costumes encouraged—bring your sparkle.
This month, the DEI Book Club dives into Integrated by Noliwe Rooks, exploring the complex legacy of school desegregation. Join thoughtful weekly discussions and be part of meaningful conversations around justice and education.
The Lynn Carpenter Memorial Garden is nearly complete—a peaceful place for remembrance and reflection. Community members are invited to leave a lasting mark by dedicating engraved bricks, helping tell the ongoing story of IUCC for generations to come.
Mark your calendars for a powerful night of music and connection on June 7 at 7:00 PM in the IUCC Sanctuary. The Chancel Choir, under the direction of Dr. Christopher Peterson and accompanied by pianist Yuyoung Jeong, will present an inspiring program celebrating the beauty of community through song.
On May 31 after worship, join us for a casual and delicious way to support IUCC at California Pizza Kitchen in Irvine. Gather with friends, share a meal, and give back—every purchase helps fund the life and ministries of the church. Bring a friend and come hungry!
From participating in the Second Harvest Walk to celebrating Earth Day with a powerful “Songs of the Earth” gathering, IUCC continues to show up for both people and planet—living out faith through service and care.
From Easter egg hunts and youth outings to creative Sunday School experiences, IUCC’s young people are growing in faith and community. New programs, updated spaces, and upcoming activities continue to nurture connection for all ages.
Whether it’s hosting coffee hour, joining a ministry, or attending a congregational meeting, there are so many ways to participate in the life of the church. IUCC thrives because of the people who show up—and there’s always room for you.
