THE GOSPEL PROJECT: Becoming Asian American: Rap, Race, and the Image of God, featuring Jason Chu

SATURDAY, JUNE 27, 2026 AT 7:30PM

🎤Join us for a powerful evening of music, storytelling, and conversation as we welcome rapper and cultural voice! - Let us know you’re coming!

A prominent figure in the national Asian American arts scene, Jason’s work has been featured across film, television, and gaming, including ValorantWarriorAmerican Born Chinese, and Joy Ride. His thought-provoking content on history, culture, and identity reaches millions, regularly going viral across Instagram and TikTok.

Beyond the stage, Jason has collaborated with the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office, contributed to The Sims 4 as a cultural consultant, and serves as guest co-curator of (BE)spoken, an exhibition of Asian American spoken word poetry at the Chinese American Museum.

💬🎵Blending hip-hop, personal narrative, and spiritual reflection, this evening invites us to consider how identity, race, and faith intersect—and what it means to see ourselves and one another as bearers of the divine image.

🥣We begin with a free communion meal at 6:00pm. All are welcome at the table.

🎤The service begins at 7:30pm.

This is a FREE event, open to the entire community.
