Film Screening & Discussion: Orange, A Shade of Black

Friday, August 8 at 5:30 PM | Plumer Hall at IUCC

🎬Join us for a special screening and community conversation hosted by the DEI Ministry in partnership with Multiracial Americans of Southern California (MASC).

We'll be showing the powerful documentary Orange, A Shade of Black by filmmaker Dawn Nguyen Spranger, a teacher at OCSA. The film tells the story of the Clemons family, one of the first African American families to move to the city of Orange in 1970. Through the lens of their multigenerational, multiracial experience—including one daughter who has raised her own interracial family in Orange County—the film offers a moving portrait of family, identity, and resilience.
