IUCC is a proudly progressive and thriving congregation of the United Church of Christ. We invite you to bring your own understanding of what it means to be on the journey of faith and join us as we strive boldly to live out our own faith in the world through social justice, enlightening education, enlivening worship and caring community.

IUCC has intentionally adopted four formal designations offered by the United Church of Christ. We are:

Open & Affirming: We welcome into our full life and ministry persons of all sexual orientations and gender expressions.

Just Peace: We proclaim a public identity as a justice-doing, peace-seeking church. Two specific groups lead IUCC in this: Advocates for Justice & Peace and Mission and Service.

Global Mission: Our vision for ministry embraces the whole of creation, and we seek to connect internationally. We have taken mission trips to Japan and to Mexico, and more are planned. Mission trips both educate the participants and allow them to offer help at the point of greatest need.

Creation Justice: Our GREENfaith Committee leads us in seeking environmental justice through caring for creation and seeking justice for the oppressed. Initiatives include building awareness around going green, advocacy for climate change initiatives and more.
