The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets the second Sunday of the month at 9:30 a.m. in Plumer Hall to work on projects. Some of us knit, some of us crochet, some bring snacks to encourage us, and some make the cards and prepare the verses that are attached to completed projects.
Most often these projects are shawls. We also make lap robes, baby blankets, pocket shawls to show our continuing compassion for those whose struggles continue, and even bears, rabbits or another appropriate gift for our younger congregants. We dedicate these items on the third Sunday of each month when they are passed among the congregation for them to add their prayers. Our gifts are given to those who are suffering with health issues, grieving the loss of a cherished friend or relative. We also celebrate birth, marriage, confirmation and graduations.
