We are a progressive church community committed to

improving the human condition both locally and throughout the world.

Those words ring out on IUCC’s web site and printed literature.  And in the three-plus years that Pastor Paul Tellström has been with us, this congregation has enacted them in the programs we offer, the people we reach, and the vision we embrace. 

·         We stepped up to authorize hiring of an Associate Pastor, who will lead programs to support and attract youth and young families.

·         We stepped up for justice in the fight against Proposition 8.  Our stand brought us community prominence and profile; and as the fight continues, many will look to IUCC for leadership.

·         We stepped up to ensure the vitality of our signature music program, supporting Rob Istad’s vision for both congregational singing and quality ensemble per­form­ances; and ensuring now support for Interim Director of Music Tina Glander Peterson.

·         We stepped up to new horizons in adult education.  In the coming year we will add Bishop John Spong to a roster of national figures who have engaged and inspired us, all accompanied by strong educational programs from our own staff and members.

·         We stepped up every year in our support, as well – in the number of individuals and families who make a financial pledge, and in the amount with which we resource our words, our programs, our dreams.

Will you step up with us this year? 

We hope that you will prayerfully consider pledging a weekly or monthly gift for 2010.  By your making such a pledge, we can achieve our goal of $390,000 in pledges, and fulfill our vision as a progressive church that is a force in the larger community.
